The Club of Budapest
The
Club of Budapest
is an informal association of global and local active opinion leaders
in the fields of art, science, religion and culture. The founder and
president, Dr. Ervin Laszlo was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He received the Japan Peace Prize in 2001 and
holds the highest degree of the Sorbonne.
The
Club of Budapest is dedicated to furthering and facilitating the evolution
of more responsible and timely values and ethics among people in all
societies and every walk of life, as the best and ultimately only dependable
avenue toward peace and sustainability on this planet.
Honorary
members of The Club of Budapest include H.H. the Dalai Lama (Spiritual
Leader / Nobel Peace Laureate); Mikhail Gorbachev (Opinion Leader /
Statesman); Jane Goodall (Scientist); Peter Gabriel (Musician); Sir
Arthur C. Clarke (Writer); Hazel Henderson (Economist/Activist); Masami
Saionji (Japanese Spiritual Leader); Mohammed Yunnus (Economist / Nobel
Peace Laureate) to name but a few.
The Club of Budapest (Australia)
The
Club of Budapest (Australia) was incorporated in March 2007. The Global
Peace Meditation Day is the first initiative of the organisation.
